British Adventure Activities

Great Britain is often home to the damp, dreary and rather chilly weather. British beaches can sometimes tend to be filled with enormous seagulls and an impressive array of litter. However, what we do have are guts and a little oomph that gets us through our weekends, this all resides around the many adventure activities on offer across the country. Of course we aren’t talking about skydiving every weekend but still, activities that get the blood pumping!
So what can you do?
Well, there’s the ever adventurous white water rafting sport. This is perfect for the adrenaline junkie looking to get a little wet, being hurled down rivers attempting to avoid toppling overboard. This will certainly be an enjoyable experience, something a little different to do and perfect in whatever weather the skies decide on.
A slightly less viscous water sport and perfect for a little outing with the family is canoeing. This caters to all ages and abilities focusing on the idea of lovely family bonding.
Another family orientated activity would be rock climbing. Yet again, this is perfect for all ages and will help build the essence of team work and dedication amongst your family.
Now, something ridiculously fun to do is the high ropes course. There are plenty of these scattered around the UK and all for a very reasonable price for a day out. These courses can be great for a group of friends, a family or even a couple’s day out. The course consists of ropes high in the trees, zip-wires, harnesses and a whole lot of adrenaline.

Wye Valley Camping

Camping is most definitely marmite. The cold, the feeling of uncleanliness and the bad back that erupts at the sight of a tent certainly makes it a difficult experience.
Despite the negatives, there are plenty of positives that make camping quite fun and actually a nice change from those rather costly and sometimes nonflexible hotels.
The Forest of Dean is a well-known area of natural beauty and visited regularly throughout the summer months. The beautiful forests and greenery make this and Wye Valley an exquisite place to visit, making us very proud to be British.
Taking a lovely stroll through the parks in the day is all well and good however, setting up camp and waking up to nature is a whole different thing. Camping isn’t really that scary and in the Wye Valley it’s pretty much the opposite.
The camping and caravan parks are situated amongst wonderful views and scenery. As all of the camping spots are places filled with regular campers, all your needs are basically taken care of.
Clean bathrooms, showers and many restaurants and pubs nearby. Camping in Wye Valley offers you affordable accommodation amongst one of Britain’s longest standing areas of beauty.
If you’re an avid walker, a keen biker or if you fancy a few exciting sports such as caving, the Forest of Dean offers all of these things. There will never be a dull moment when camping here, whether in the middle of July or approaching dreary November.
